Thanks Alexandra, even though I won both novice and open in the first club comp I entered, I haven't considered myself much more than a novice. But having scorred around 95% for my last 4 stones, I feel worthy of intermediate in AFG comps.
On your query regarding points meeting up, I understand from talking to judges that they look for all facets meeting at that point to have a point. If the points don't meet up, at least one of them will have a flat end. Hope this helps.

It would be a move into the future to make the manual available as a PDF download. This would surely encourage more members and facetors to enter.

I suppose the next best solution is to transcribe the relevant rules into the competition schedules.
