Thanks Alexandra, even though I won both novice and open in the first club comp I entered, I haven't considered myself much more than a novice. But having scorred around 95% for my last 4 stones, I feel worthy of intermediate in AFG comps.

On your query regarding points meeting up, I understand from talking to judges that they look for all facets meeting at that point to have a point.  If the points don't meet up, at least one of them will have a flat end.  Hope this helps.

    Regards

    Gordon.

It would be a move into the future to make the manual available as a PDF download.  This would surely encourage more members and facetors to enter.

A request was put to AFLACA to have just the Faceting parts of the J&R Manual be allowed to be put up on our Website  way back in 2012 but was rejected. The Manual is produced by AFLACA and as that version wasn't that old with quite a number of printed copies still on hand it was deemed inappropriate at the time. Paul

    Hi Paul,

I suppose the next best solution is to transcribe the relevant rules into the competition schedules.
