Guild Groups
Most Australian States have one or more groups which meet regularly to share ideas and advice. Some run weekend workshops to help new members and to advance their own skills. Active groups are a vital part of the Guild, as they are in constant touch with members in their area.

Gemstones
The Guild is very active in promoting and protecting Australia's gemstone resources and has lobbied the government where necessary, providing input into the formulation of new fossicking legislation and in negotiations to protect rare gemstone localities.
