Jeff made a good point about defining what a master is.  

However, as a guild we do more than perpetuate competition cutting.  We also teach about different aspects of our craft and we foster an environment for improving the body of knowledge available to facetors.  

About the only aspect of cutting we don't  seem to teach in one form or another is commercial cutting.

If we were to have a master qualification, we would need to run exams to test knowledge of related subjects.
