We bought a machine from Lindsay Drabsch - still have it.

There wasn't a manual - Lindsay spent a day with us giving us a thorough briefing . We may be able to help if you have a problem.

My machine was number 5 in the line - no manual. Most of the machine function is easy to understand, although the later models look quite different to the early ones like mine. What in particular did you want to find out about?

Thanks for your replies. My machine is out somewhere and was hoping a Manual may show how I can make adjustments. My machine is 46 (one of the first light weight ones). Lindsay sat down and went thru the machine with me also but obviously not in the depth that I need now. Will have to try and make one of the workshops!

We haven't had to make any adjustments so not able to help. After you find out how to do it you'll be able to write the instructions for the rest of us  !!

Is the problem that the sweep of the quill is not absolutely parallel to the lap?

One of the few adjustments provided on the earlier models were leveling screws in the mast base - they were not intended to be used again once set up at manufacture (and were Loctited), but if there is a problem they could be used in conjunction with a really flat lap, such as a ceramic to reset the level. Before starting down that track, however, check that there is no loss of "preload" on the mast bearing, as that could produce the same effect (it did on mine early in the piece).

Thanks Bruce. Will talk to the boys in the Club who are assisting me about your comments, this may help as the sweep is slightly out.
