Hi,
Looking at replacing the standard motor that looks like it has shorted out and affected the controller as well.
I believe John B. may have written something in Facet Talk a little while ago.
Any leads / suggestions? to see what others have done.
Thanks in advance
Hi Mark if you call GemCuts a call 02 66811686 they do a 12V conversion motor and new control $850 or there a-bouts but a call cant hurt
I have see other cutter say they have been able to get motors and controllers from JCAY but they might be good at doing electrical stuff Im not anyway give GemCuts a call I think they are open Mon-Thurs
Hi Mark, look up Motion Dynamics, they sell 12vdc motors and speed controllers. I've used them a few times. You'll need a 240vac to 12vdc 30A power supply as well. Unless you're electrically minded don't attempt it.
Thanks Wayne,
Yes, a firm up this way will do a replacement for $850 as well.
Other feedback is that a DC conversion is a cheaper and probably safer option so will go that way.
Cheers
Thanks Paul,
Will look at Motion Dynamics for a DC option.
I have somebody who knows what they are doing complete the work. He has an electrical background and has designed many DC systems involving small motors and remote controllers so I won't be electrocuting myself much to my wife's relief. I'm banned from electrical ... and ladders these days. :)
