Due to Corona-19 restrictions and any possible delays with postal services,  the Committee has decided to allow another 2 weeks for entries to be received. The deadline now will be the 15th of June.

Hopefully all postage in transit can make it to us in time.

Wishing everyone good luck in the competition.

If you have already sent your stones and now find the extra 2 weeks may give you time to cut the concave stone. Can that still be entered.

Absolutely. Go for it. The more stones are entered, the better the competition is. Love to see more entries in the concave Section.

Come on all you concave cutters! have a go! if we want to promote concave faceting we need entries to prove there is a place for it in competition...

    Hi Paul,

A new section requiring specialist gear like a concave cut will take several years to establish.

I have been corresponding with two cutters who have been making their own machines to enter this section.

I encourage the guild to include a concave cut in at least three annual comps to encourage more development of this style of cut before determining whether or not the section should be permanent.

    Regards

    Gordon Perkins
