Andrew Brown in conjunction with Mark Oros have created a free downloadable faceting design book for beginners.  It is also available through Amazon for a small fee.

It contains 12 simple faceting designs that are progressively more difficult along with a lot of information beginning faceters can benefit from.

In PDF form, it's 64 pages long.
